BRITAIN could be in the grip of its hardest winter for decades as temperatures struggle to climb above freezing.
Treacherous icy weather hit the UK this morning as millions attempted to return to work after the Christmas break - and it's only going to get colder.

Forecasters predict that temperatures in Wales and the west of England could plunge as low as minus 10C tonight.

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for large parts of the UK over the coming days as it became clear that Britain is already experiencing the longest cold snap for 10 years.

Tell me about it.  I had trouble keeping the car on the road today.  Went along the pavement twice to avoid other cars on the road.  Terrifying it was.  Nearly gave up and left it there.

Yes, I had to use my car today as well, and had to scrape a couple of inches of snow from the windows.

Ken, as any "thinking" person knows, so-called "Global Warming" is a load of crap.

The BBC have reverted to using the phrase "Climate Change" instead.

Yes, the climate is changing, it's constantly changing, and the real reason behind this colder Winter is the lack of Sun Spot activity last year.

I was only joking Sandie ! Laughing  Laughing  I think that after the truth became the first casualty in this so-called climate change war, I would like to niminate Al Gore as the second casualty, that guy has done more to stir things up than just about anyone ! Why not feed him to a starving polar bear ? or would that be too ironic ??? Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Contrary to public belief, Ken, Polar Bears are increasing in number and in many Alaskan towns they are becoming a dangerous menace.

We have all been fed a lot of tripe about so-called Global Warming, hell, we now even have to give up lighting our homes properly.

Soon, it will be hard to buy Tungstan Lightbulbs in Stores, we will be FORCED into using these crappy "Low Energy" thingies.

I have one in my hallway which isn't too bad, but the one in the kitchen takes about three minuets to reach it's full brightness. I hate them, and have tried hard not to have to fit them in my sitting-room, as I cannot see to read or do any close work very well with them.

I certainly don't have any problems with this type of weather, Joan, actually I rather enjoy it. Much more like the Winters I remember when I was younger. Smile
