I don't cry easily, but as I type this I am in tears. Why?
I have just been browsing online (as you do), and came across a site that brought many happy childhood memories flooding back to me.
It shows photos of many of the places where I used to spend my holidays when I was young.
My Grand Parents lived in a small village called Clearbrook on the edge of Dartmoor, and this website had photos of the tiny Chapel where my Gran used to worship on Sundays, and the old railway bridge, not a stones throw from her house.
It was, JoJo. it really was. I was so lucky, plenty of places to roam and explore, the moors, river and meadows, and, of course, the railway.
In those days, noone worried where you were or what you were up to. There was a big degree of trust on both sides, not like now.
When I think how I used to complain sometimes about going to Chapel with my Nan, god, what I would give now, just to walk through that porch and into the Chapel with its rows of wooden chairs. (No pews). Pews were for Churches, Chapels had Chairs! (Damned uncomfortable ones, too.) After sitting for an hour, your bum grew numb! _________________ http://sewardchronicles.ning.com/
I went to Chaple as well Sandie and you are right about the chairs,I went with my Sister twice on a Sunday morning and afternoon to Sunday School, pity some of the kids today don't have the same discipline we had isn't it
