Just got home from my first session at University in London.
I am studying Egyptology at Birkbeck University.
Managed to miss out on the session I was supposed
to attend on Monday, due to a monumental cock up.!
I'm doing two Modules a week, ( evenings ) over a
period of two years, totalling four Modules in all.
Just been given my first Essay to do.!
I have around 4-5 weeks to complete it
I still have Mondays Essay to do as well,
but I will be a week behind as I missed the first Class.!

Thanks for your good wishes Maywalk.!
It's a subject ive always been interested in
The rules for composition of Essays are very complicated
so I will have to do a lot of research and study
and most important stick to the rules.!
Don't obviously want to crack up under the strain.!

Good luck, Mike. The closest I have come to Egyptology was when I literally queued for hours to see Tuttenkarmen at the B.M. back in the seventies. It rather freaked me out, and later, I wandered around the complete Egyptology section at the B.M. and I was freaked out even more! Mind you, the fact that I was "on speed" at the time just may have had something to do with it! Laughing t

Hi Sandy, yes not a good idea to be looking at Mummies
etc, whilst you are on mind altering substances.!
Especially when you consider what they did to
prepare the bodies for Mummification.!
Like scrambling the Brains and drawing the contents out
through a hole in the Skull, and putting internal organs
in Canopic Jars, after removing them from the body.!

Good Luck with your course Mike, sounds really interesting and just a bit different from the Media Studies everyone else seems to want to do !
I've visited the pyramids themselves quite anumber of times and even climbed most the way up the main pyramid way back in the early 70s when I was quite a bit fitter and dafter !! Very Happy Also visited the Valley of the Kings around the same time and must admit, it was quite a moving experience.

Thanks for your good wishes Ken, just hope I can cope with the pressure.!
As far as I can tell, not too many Essays to do over a short period, so,
I hope I can manage.! Would love to visit Egypt, but don't have the funds
right now.! Did visit Israel a good many years ago, staying at a Kibbutz
also spent a night on the top of Massada, and a week in Jerusalem.
An amazing experience all round for me, a bit of a special trip.
