A Genuine Job Centre vacancy in London.  If I was still searching for a job I would have gone for it.

I tell you what, Ken, I wish they had offered "jobs" like that when I was signing on the dole, also, did you know that another vaccancy "doing the rounds" of Job Centres is for a "Witch to work their magic at Wookey Hole Caves?????

Hard to imagine isn't it, for those of us whose experiences at so-called Job Centres revolved around snotty clerks demanding to see what jobs we had applied for, who we had phoned, and what firms we had written to during the past fortnight.

The most "exciting" job I was offered at a Job Centre was as a delivery driver for Tesco!!!!!!
Crying or Very sad

I saw a bit in the Daily Mail about the witch job Sandie, incredible isn't it !
I know what you mean about the job centres of old, when I was de-mobbed from the air force, I was offered apprentice fishing rod maker or window dresser !!!!  Confused
Because my parents lived on a farm about 15 miles away, the jobcentre just gave me a whole pile of claim forms and told me to send one in every fortnight and they'd post the giro back by return post  Shocked When I asked about going for job interviews, they virtually laughed and said "what job interviews ? there aren't any jobs round here"!

The thing is, Ken, there aren't any jobs out there now, and the Job Centre staff know this, but they have "targets" set by a target-obsessed government that still make the staff jump through hoops, and so, consequently, the staff make their claimants jump through hoops also. Sad
