Opera legend Luciano Pavarotti has died, his manager said.
In Britain, he will forever be known as the man who brought classical music to the masses with his performance of Puccini's Nessun Dorma, the anthem of the 1990 World Cup in Italy. But to serious fans he was known for the unforced beauty and thrilling urgency of his voice, his vibrant high Cs and ebullient showmanship making him one the world's most beloved tenors.
Pavarotti, 71, had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and underwent further treatment in August.
Hi Jo-Jo, I'm not an opera fan either, but I did like Pavorotti, his voice was amazing.
The only other operas I have ever sat through completely has been Wagners' Ring Cycle. Marvellous stories, and great music. _________________ http://sewardchronicles.ning.com/
I have never been to the Opera, watched it on the TV,but found it hard going,I suppose you have to read about it before you can follow the story just like the Ballet which I love _________________
