What a Rip-Off!!

I went into Boots Chemist this afternoon, to collect my prescription for my Blood Pressure tablets. The assistant said that it would take approximately ten minutes, so I decided to wait around until it was ready.

Now we've all been there and we know that ten minutes waiting time, can seem like half an hour, so I decided the time would go much quicker if I walked round the store for a bit.

I didn't have any money to spend and so I just mused at the things Boots have on display on their shelves and then I noticed the Easter Eggs. Oh yes, that time of year again, I thought to myself. Looking at the larger Easter Egg boxes, reminded me of when my children were young and yes, I was as gullible as most parents and bought them the largest box, only to find that once the packaging had been removed, there was this ridiculous chocolate egg, two thirds smaller than the box packaging.

Things haven't changed in 30 odd years and the packaging is still much larger than the chocolate egg inside. Why hasn't the Government taken the Manufacturers to task over this, as I feel it is a rip-off? It's done to fool the customer into thinking that they are getting a lot more for their money, when in fact all they are really getting is ccoloured cardboard packaging, which ends up in the bin the day after. Although I wasn't there to buy Easter Eggs, I am amazed that the Manufacturer's are still getting away with this for so long. When will the public wake up and realise what a big con this Easter Egg lark is! You get more for your money in buying an ordinary bar of chocolate. It makes me so mad!!

i have said for years that there is far too much packaging for any goods these days and not just easter eggs. look at ordinary sweets e.g. bounty bars? a good two inches of extra wrapping and for what reason? look at batteries and in 4's? TWICE, if not three times as much cardboard as the size of the batteries.
