Reg Varney who played Stan in On the Buses has died peacefully at a Nursing Home in Devon on Sunday afternoon, aged 92.
I was surprised at his age, as I never imagined him being in his fifties when he was playing the part of 30-something Stan.

The first person to use the machine was the British variety artist and actor Reg Varney.
The first ATMs accepted only a single-use token or voucher, which was retained by the machine. These worked on various principles including radiation and low-coercivity magnetism that was wiped by the card reader to make fraud more difficult.
Wow 92 can't belive that either Sandie, when you see repeats now of the show you realise how corny it was, and the one who played the older bus inspector can't remember his name must have been younger than Reg because he is still working in Last of the summer Wine isn't he _________________
JoJo, "On the Buses" wasn't "corny", it was good honest British Comedy.
Yes, the actor who played "Blakey" is still around and the last time I saw him was in "Last of the Summer Wine", he plays "Auntie Wainright's "Helper".
