The area of South East Essex where I live has recently become a very important place, and has drawn in Twitchers (Bird Watchers) from many areas. They are all trying to take pictures of the Scandanavian Waxwings that have arrived here over the past couple of weeks.
Some of these people drive the length and breadth of the country in pursuit of different birds. It really amazes me, but then, I'm the type of person who would do the same thing, but in my case it would be to see rare railway locomotives, and not birds.
Each to their own, I suppose, to 'ordinary' people, both us Gricers, (Trainspotters) and Twitchers are weird anyway.
