Came across this excellent comment on the Daily Express website today.
Giving full credit where it's due, I just had to reproduce it in it's entiriety. I completely agree with all the views expressed here.

I am sure that you all now can see how political correctness works.
you have a left wing policy to cause damage to the country and as it defies common sense, you don't want it openly discussed - unlimited immigration?
find a half sensible sounding reason (which would appeal only to the half sensible though) why people shouldn't discuss it - it would offend immigrants?
find a derogatory term to scream at those who dare to disobey- racist?
put career pressure on those professionals who refuse to toe the line - get them dismissed?
The PC Brigade have been very pleased with the success of political correctness but even they realise that it has its limits as to which areas it can be used to control the population. The half sensible reason to appeal to the half sensible is the downfall - 'it would offend' - clearly has its limits.
They needed another idea to appeal to peoples better nature and what better than 'saving the planet'? So after a decade or more of warning us we are heading for another ice age, they turned the idea on its head and came up with global warming.
Its all about the Money and control ...
The rest is just pure and blatant lying ...
Quick , bandwagon approaching , all aboard the scam express .
And before anyone goes into one , i for one am all for recycling ... to a point , i did not expect anything less from our Stasi councils and ' waste enforcement directors or engineers .. i know laughable but hey thats where we are and thats what we have to put up with , one just knew that it was only time before the grand eco plan went belly up , ie: tons of carefully sorted recyclabes to end up probably being burnt , sent to the far east or buried .. dont do as we do , do as we say because we are the Boss ... take away the cash incentives and the councils and global enviro - mental - lists are left with nothing .
If there is one Enviro - Mental organisation which just about sums up the whole mad as a box of frogs lot of them .
Plain Stupid ? well they got the name spot on anyway , never has there been a more public relations disaster just waiting to happen ."
