I think like most people you would not have given it a second glance, it pays to know what you are looking for .

Do you watch the Antiques Road Show?
It was a repeat again last Sunday and it showed a painting by Souza that was, in my opinion, a load of b****y rubbish but it was worth up to £80,000.
It was a maze of lines and colours and represented sod all.
How can anyone call this art???????? Unfortunately the one I am talking about is not on this site but it gives you some idea of the rubbish he painted.

I certainly would not want them on my wall.

I agree Maywalk, some of the things they show and the price they say they are worth is so stupid.

UGGGG! I agree with you Maywalk, a load of s..t.
My Dad was an artist, he did landshapes mainly, never was famous but
did exhibit and was known in arty circles.Art was his whole life.

That antique dealer doesn't look very affluent.

Marie, you don't "dress up" to visit boot sales, just the opposite. When I used to be a regular, I used to sometimes get taken for a Bag Lady!!!

I've just been to two. The first was in what used to be the Ever Ready factory near us, it closed down putting a lot of people out of work.
The second was with a few friends who had taken a stall in a little open air sale, lovely weather and an enjoyable day.
I'll remember that advice if I go to another one.
