cardmaking/papercraftHas anyone gotten 'into' these pasttimes. They are great fun and it is wonderful to see your finished object and be happy with it. Many people appreciate any handmade gifts. After all, see how expensive shop sold 'handmade' cards are. You can make them as individual as you please as well. As a Pagan I have had to make my Spring and Yule cards for years as even thou these festivals were Pagan they have been over ridden by Christianity and all the shop cards have these symbols on them. It is so gratifying for someone like me who would rather give then receive to see the look on my friends faces when I give them a specially made card or picture. I would love to connect with others who find this craft edifying.

Have you got any pictures of them you could post hedwytch. I would love to see them.
I make cards and calendars but just on the computer not by hand.

I get quite few hand made cards every year for Christmas and birthdays. My little sister is big into card making and so are a number of friends wives, some are real works of art and I get to wondering how many they send out or how early in the year they start making them !
I keep meaning to give it a try but then I see loads of cards in the Jan sales and end up buying them instead........pure laziness on my part

I do appreciate hand made cards, but I realise just how much time they take to make, and for lots of people this just isn't an option.
I do try to send unusal cards, and try to keep them 'exclusive'. I particularly like Animal Charity cards and the WWF. (World Wildlife Fund) cards.
They have beautiful pictures of seals, polar bears etc on them, and whilst not exactly 'Seasonal', they can be enjoyed all year round, and even framed if you so wish.

I always try to buy at least one box of RNLI cards every year, as both my late father and I were involved with the RNLI years ago.

cardmaking/papercraftI dont know how to post things, I'm sorry. I think you are clever for doing them on the computer. I had a scanner but I lent it to my step-son as I didnt know how to use it. We also buy from the Life boats as it is one of our monthly donation thingys and so we get a little catalogue this time of year and I also get bits from the Childline catalogue. Not everyone has a made card. Some of my elderly relatives would think it very odd so they get a wintery picture with Seasons Greetings rather than Happy Christmas. They prob dont even realise the difference. I think the charity cards must be made by the same manufacturer as the robin on a snowy bough is popping up in various sizes in most of our charity shops here in Lynn
