Children in "Special Need".

As my British Readers probably know, tonight the BBC's whole output has been devoted to it's annual "Children In Need" appeal. This begfest of an evening is designed purely and simply to make the viewers "feel ashamed" of themselves, and dig deep into their purses and wallets,chequebooks and Credit Cards, and give money that some of them can hardly afford, over to this one Nationwide Begging Bowl. Now, please don't mis-understand me, I am all in favour of helping needy kids, and have no wish to see any child living in poverty. But, this Celebrity Studded Show, misses the whole point. The point being, the hundreds of British children who are snatched from the parental home by the all-powerful British Social Services.
These kiddies are then kept in "care", and seldom returned to their families.
Any family who is deemed "unsuitable" by Social Services, has the children placed on the "Child Protection List", also known as the "At Risk" register.

Children can be classed "At Risk" for many reasons, actual or suspected abuse, the parent(s) are Registered Drug Addicts, or other "Unsuitable" parents.

I am currently working on behalf of a lady whose three Grandchildren were forceably removed from her home, by the Social Services. The eldest, a ten year old girl, was so distressed, that she barricaded herself in the kitchen with a knife.
Whatever damage has been done to this poor girl? Even if this case is resolved favourably, that little girl will be mentally scarred for the rest of her life.
I will keep you updated with regards to progress over this case, but, quite honestly, trying to take on the might of an organisation like the British Social Services, is like trying to take on the might of Stalins' Russia, single-handed!
