Sylvia, John Prescott is this governments biggest embarrasment, Tone has only kept him in his posistion for 'old times sake', and because just possibly because he's 'frightened' of him!
I was talking to an aquaintance of mine on the market, yesterday, and he told me that he was in the Merchant Navy with Prescott. He was a very overbearing and intimidating man who used his Union powers to bully and threaten other men.
Sounds about right, doesn't it. Also he acts as a 'Mediator' between Tony and Gordon Brown, who, by all accounts, can't hardly bear to be civil to each other.

I wonder if they are looking for someone to replace Prescott ? I wouldn't mind his job, I could certainly do with the money,houses,cars etc. I'm not sure I could handle the secretary bit though, still, if I had his money, I could get a man in to handle that side of things for me !
