Genetic Engineering

I wonder did anyone else watch the programe
last night(Monday)on BBC,
Whilst the program itself was good, because
it exposed just what is going on in the farming world. Some of the effects on the animals is
abolutely appauling and even grotesk.
Enormous mussle bound cattle, chickens bred to
have no feathers, pig that glow in the dark,
and perhaps we don't realise that we are already
eating these without our being aware of it.
It maded me feel all UUUUUUHHHHG Crying or Very sad

I saw a small part of the program, made me cringe, I know we have to experiment but some of that stuff was just sick Sad

I missed that programme, but from how you both react to it I have to say that it doesn't suprise me, Man is forever trying to play God, and the results of these unatural and sickening experiments will haunt us for generations to come. Sad

Changing the subject eve so slightly, did anybody read in Tuesdays papers about the animal rights Gestapo in Germany, who want Berlin zoo to put down a baby polar bear that they are hand rearring after it was rejected by its mum ?

I would have thought that with all the hue and cry about these magnificent bears facing extinction in the wild, we should be doing all we can to preserve the species in captivity for future generations. whilst I am not comletely always in favour of some zoos and their cavalier approach to breeding wild animals, I think that in the case of animals like the polar bear that might be facing extinction, then it is our moral duty to do what we can to preserve them and if it can't be done in the wild, then it is down to places like zoos to do they bit .

Does anyone else have an opinion on these matters ?
Or, is the Lonesome Ranter on his own again ! Very Happy
Sandie Seward

Ken, yes, I saw something about it on the News tonight, and I agree with you. It's down to us that these beautiful creatures are facing possible extinction, therefore we must try to do all we can to redress the balance.

I saw something about that polar bear too.
Poor thing, can't see any point in killing it
especially as their numbers are dwingling Crying or Very sad
