Gleason sheds 25 jobs.The cutting tool manufacturer Gleason is to shed 25 jobs. Nearly two-thirds of Gleason's trade is with the automotive industry and the huge slump in sales of new vehicles has had a knock-on effect on the Plymouth-based company, which has started a statutory 30-day consultation on redundancies. The US-owned firm employs 90 people at its Estover factory.
