They were at Harperley prisoner of war camp today so I take it they are what would have been there 60 odd years ago.

They're interesting but I've no idea what breed they are. There are thousands of fancy breeds. My hubby's the expert and he doesn't know either.
He wondered if Buff Rocks decended from the hen in the top picture.
Do you know what breeds they are mariann?

I have no idea but next time I go I will ask. We called for a meal on our way back from Harrogate and they looked so nice I couldn't resist them.
I do think they are a breed that would have been common in the 1940's. After saying that we went for Christmas lunch and they had a German market which apparently they have every year.
They had erected a field camp and had a group of soldiers in uniform to march round only they were in German uniform with a german motorbike and side-car in a camp for German P.O.W's. I have looked twice at everything there since.
