Lies, Lies, and More Lies!!!!In my view, children are inclined to believe what adults tell them, at least when they're quite young. It is easy to mould childrens' minds into certain ways of thinking, in our day we had Sunday Schools, and we believed the Bible Stories, we "believed" in the benevolent old gentleman in the sky, who watched our every thought, word, and deed.
We even "believed" in Father Christmas! Then, as your mind expands and developes, you start to question those "beliefs", and suddenly, the realisation hits you. Those adults whom you looked up to and respected, (Teachers, Parent's, Policeman ect.) have all been spouting lies! Lies, just to keep you "behaving yourself", to keep you "submissive", to keep you "in your place".
Once the realisation hits you that you've been consistantly lied to and decieved, it's perfectly understandable that you are not going to believe a word anyone tells you, ever again.
This is happening in our society, as children of a younger and younger age, have their beliefs shattered, when they watch adults argue, fight, get drunk, take drugs, and generally misbehave. Is it any wonder that the kids today are "older than their years," and lose their "innocence" so fast?
That's partly why fifteen year old boys carry AK47's onto public transport, why they have no "respect" for Law and Order, they are angry that they've been lied to, and want to redress the balance.
As adults, we feel exactly the same way when we realise that our Leaders, Scientists, and Experts are constantly lying to us. It makes us just as angry as those kids, but we have different ways of showing it.

As far as leaders, scientists and experts go I agree with you 100%. It horrifies me when I hear about some of the things they cover up and tell lies about and I don't go looking for this so I must just see a tiny percentage of it.
I think there must be more to childrens' problems though than just religious instruction and harmless fairy tales. We went through it and didn't resort to machine guns and flick knives. I don't think it's a case of not knowing right from wrong because they do. It is more the fact that they convince themselves they are so important they can do what they want. Plus there is no longer a deterrent.
I know that is only a small part of the problem but these youngsters are still very much in the minority, unfortunately they are the ones who sell newspapers. It must literally be hell to have to live with this day after day.

Marie, they way I see it, our society is built around two things. Deciept and Debt!
If people were to stop lying to each other (and to themselves), if it were possible for everyone to suddenly pay off their Mortgages, and other debts, then Society as we know, would totally collapse.
Why is it, do you think, that Mortgage and Loan Providers impose a financial penalty if someone pays off their mortgage or loan "early?"
It's because by doing so, it imposes severe problems for the Lender, who, as I have already said, lend money they don't have. You really should try to watch that video on our new TPUC website for a fuller explanation of this issue.

I couldn't find the video the other day, admin, I will have another look.
Northern Rock are advertising 100% mortgages, I couldn't believe it.

Sheer Desparation, remember, they don't have the money that they're offering. Besides, wonder just how many "hoops" a would-be Borrower has to jump through before approval?
