Mikes Photo's

I have taken up the Hobby of Photography again, after quite a long absence.
Later on this year I will dust off my Darkroom and do some developing of
Colour negatives. In the meantime I'm snapping away with a NIKON 35mm Film Camera,
taking interesting photo's, my favourite subject at the moment is Portraits of Buskers and Street entertainers.

Here's one of a Street Entertainer in Covent Garden in London

sheriff

Wouldn't like to meet him in a dark alley!!! Smile
Sandie Seward

Nice study, Mike. I wouldn't fancy meeting him down a dark alley!!!!!! Surprised
Sandie Seward

Great minds think alike, Sheriff!!!! We must have posted our comments at the same time! Shocked

Here's another Photograph for your delight and delectation

Taken at Camden Town in London

Which is where all the Punks and Goths hang out

Sandie Seward

Seems as if dear old London still has more than it's share of charecters, Mike. Great portrait study. They seemed pleased to be photographed. Very Happy There were (are?) two great pubs in Camden Town, the "Black Cap" which used to host brilliant Drag Shows, and "The Father Red Cap". Did you notice them?
JoJo

YOU KNOW BET IT TAKES THEM AGES TO GET READY TO GO OUT Laughing GREAT PHOTO MIKE Razz

Pubs In Camden Town

Hi Sandy, the only Pub ive been in around there is "TheWorlds End",
massive place, and a very interesting drinking hole.!
Dont know the two you have mentioned, have to search them out.
Sandie Seward

Mike, the "Black Cap" is up the road from the tube station, (on the same side), and the "Father Redcap" is further up on the opposite side of the street.

More Photo's for your viewing pleasure.!

Very friendly and cuddly,( unless you upset him.! )

Another, ( hopefully ), of a cute Samoyed in Camden Town

Sandie Seward

Here's a couple of close up shots of Trees

Taken in Hyde Park London

Nice shapes and textures I think.

JoJo

Love the photos Mike, the dogs are sooooooooooo beautiful,I took a lovely photo yesterday of some chysthanimums lovely copper colour, come up every year in the garden, but could not compete with the quality of your work Confused
Sandie Seward

Mike, are you sure those were Trees that you photographed? They look more like Ents to me? (Treebeard in Lord of the Rings). Confused
metalmike

Yup, definately a Tree.!, not a Trffid or one of those giant walking thingies in the Film LOTR.
metalmike

hi jo-jo,thanks for the comments on my photo's, You can still take excellent pics with a basic camera, just be bold, experiment, and get as close as possible and fill as much of the frame as you can, especially when doing plants, animals or people. Check to see how near your camera's lens will focus to the subject. Happy snapping.! p.s It's fair to say I do have a good Camera, (one of a growing collection), which is a NIKON SLR, which has all the bells and whistles you need, and some you dont.!

p.s didn't take this one.!, it's from a lovely Website called stuffonmycat
if you love Cats you will love this site.!

JoJo

I will have to have a look at that site,I do love cats I have always had one, my last cat Arnie was put to sleep 18months ago and I promised my OH I would not have any more, everytime I bring it up,he reminds me of what I said,I hope I will have another some day,
Mike who do you upload your photos with? mine is free imagehosting but they don't upload as large as yours Confused I will post a picture to show you Smile

See what I mean Sad
Sandie Seward

Jo-Jo, you can post photos here using our own forum facilities, the only thing to remember is that they must be no larger than 640x480 and they must be in jpg. format. Smile
marieann

Jo-jo that's a lovely photo when you click on it and it enlarges, I use photobucket and it does have a facility, apparently, for using enlargeable thumbnails but I haven't bothered with it. Have you looked on your hosting site to see if you have a choice of size to post.

Tony has a Canon 400 digital SLR mike, they do make the world of difference to the quality don't they? I love the clarity of your photos I don't seem to post mine so much now because his are so much better.

See what I mean taken by Tony through the bus window from way outside the enclosure.

Knowsley Safari Park.
JoJo

Thanks all for the imformation,i will have a look around and see what I come up with Smile

A few more photo's for everyone to enjoy, taken during my break in Abingdon and Oxford.
The Bargee was taken in Oxford, on the Thames, lovely guy, very friendly.
And the Piper in Oxford Town Centre.
A lovely shot of a very cute Birman Cat I made friends with, who lives on site,
and the lovely Sunset, on the last night I stayed.

All photo's taken with a 5mp digital camera
Sandie Seward

Great photo's Mike, you have the touch of the Professional about you. Thanks for sharing them.
marieann

Lovely photos Mike you do have an eye for a good picture. Doesn't that bargee make you want to smile?
metalmike

thanks to everyone who complimented me on my photos,
but dont forget these are just a selection from many i've taken
most of the others are a bit rubbish.!
But one good thing about using a digital camere,
is that you dont waste film, and can just delete
pictures and start again, which reminds me, I will have to
do some serious deleting of some of my picture files on the P.C.!
