New Digicam.

Here is a picture of my new Digital Camera. It's a Sony, and has one of the best lenses in the compact digital market. It's a Carl Ziess. When it was new it cost around £800. I picked it up from eBay last evening for just over £50. I think I have got myself a bargain. The Bidding was very tense, and it went right to the wire, with yours truely winning it by only FOUR PENCE! (Total of 22 Bids). One of the best Bidding Battles I've had on eBay for ages.
Very Happy

Thanks, Mike. I'm still awaiting delivery. Bloody Post Office takes so long to deliver anything these days.! I just hope both it, and my new Camcorder arrive soon, sound, and undamaged.

Dont worry Sandy, the Postal service isnt as bad as you think,
but they may still have a bit of a backlog, due to the strikes recently.
Just keep up communication with the seller, and give then 7-10 days to get the item to you.
After that, assuming you have used Pay Pal, you ARE covered for your item up to about £500 if you have to make any claims.
The BANK or EBAY/SELLER,not sure which, will sort a refund/credit

I hate bidding on e.bay when there is a lot of interest,I leave to until there's only seconds to go and still miss out Sad

But well done Sandie that looks brilliant Smile

Hi Jo-Jo,yes iv'e had the same experience, many times on EBAY. You get to the last vital minutes or seconds, and think, Iv'e WON IT,hooray, and then some cheeky bugger squeezes in a last bid,and you lose the item, frustrating but good fun. It depends on how rare the item is,or whether there are lots more similar items.Either way, dont get too carried away with your bids, and put in a max amount you want to pay nice and early. Try not to get ripped off for postage, some of the charges are ludicrous.!

Keep an eye on thje Auction in the vital last few minutes, and keep refreshing the page, the site will then update the time left to bid, dont leave the bid till the last few minutes, allow say 5 more minutes, and decide if the current bid is fair,do you want to pay more, or is it creeping towards an amount too high.?

Not easy to do, but try not to get too carried away.!

Happy Bidding.! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Try not to do what I did once, in my early days of eBay. I was running close with this one other Bidder, and it was going right to the wire. I think the item I was bidding for was a Dinky model. Quite rare, and not in bad condition. It was entering into it's last minuet of bidding, and, in my excitement, instead of entering the correct amount of £15, which was intended to be my maximum amount thet I was prepared to go to, I put the "dot" in the wrong place, and slapped in a bid of "£150" instead. Embarassed
I won the item, luckily for me, it only reached £14.01, so I didn't need to worry. But it just shows how easy it is to make a typo in those last, hectic seconds!

Isn't there something called a bid assistant that bids for you? I have never used it have you?
Sandie Seward

Yes, a "Bid Assistant" is a Bot that places bids on your behalf up to the maximum amount that you programme it to.
Frankly, Jo-Jo, I'd much rather do my own bidding. Much more fun! Smile
JoJo

Sold two pairs of Dents leather gloves today, didn't get what I had hoped for them only broke even Confused feel at times I won't sell anything else, but it's a bit of an interest so I suppose I will carry on Smile

The last couple of items I put up for auction, two hardback books, never even attracted any bids, although I'd re-listed them three times.
Still waiting for my new camera to arrive, when it does, I'll be taking some good quality phots of my items, and listing a lot more. Smile

My two new cameras arrived together today. The Sony Cybershot is reaaly superb, a great camera, very comfortable to handle and use. It was well worth fighting that Bidding War for it, and it's such value for money. I have looked it up on the Sony site, and when it was new it cost over £800. The Carl Ziess lens is very impressive, and the couple of photos I've taken so far, look very good indeed.
Now, I'll have to run a search for the Drivers and download them, to enable me to post pics online. There should have been a CD in the box, but it's gone missing, just like those other two CD's. Hopefully, though, there will not be such dramatic repercussions! Embarassed

The other item is a Sony Digital Handycam Video camera. This is also a neat piece of equipment, and I've already made a couple of short movies. Again, I shall have to locate the Drivers for it, before I can upload Videos.
JoJo

Look foward to them Smile I bought a new phone last christmas,I am still trying to find the software that will let me download my photos, the shop says you download from the web site, oh yes, oh no, it's like wading through treacle,my friend was sold a disc to use this is what you want, well it wasn't so I have given up Confused
Sandie Seward

I was given a tip today from an Internet Friend who told me of a way to get around trying to get hold of Drivers. He said "Open Windows Explorer, then just simply Add new Hardware, and give it a Drive Letter." So I did this, and, lo and behold, the digicam is now able to upload photos, and the computer treats it just like another item of hardware!.

My first two photos using my new camera. The first photo is a small part of my diecast model car collection, and the second photo is of my friend, Janet, when she called in last evening, for a cup of tea and a chat.
