Welcome to our on-line home, it can get a bit quiet now and again, especailly weekends when folk are out and about, but it normally picks up in the evenings.

Welcome To Any new Members, quite new myself anyway and have not commented much yet. Just happy to be somewhere that is not happy with all the bitching.

Hey everybody!!I'm fairly new, too, and am just getting a good chance to look around the forums more. I like what I see. It is put together very well, and the members do seem to interact well with one another. Maybe it's the 'older' thing!!
Hoping to get to know more of you, too.
Kudos to the admins here on a job well done. Your hard work is appreciated, thank you!!

Hi Blue Lady,
Glad to hear you are finding your feet on here at last There are a lot of posts and surprisingly, they are all very good and make for interesting reading. On most forum, you wade through pages of dross to find the odd nugget of good info, but not on here ! And we have our members to thank for that
Praise for the sight must go to Admin, who stuck with the fledgling site through thick and thin until it finally started coming together.
We look forward to hearing from you a bit more as you get to feel comfortable with us, none of us bite (yet!)
Anything you want to know, just ask, no one will bite your head off or poke fun at you on this forum, we are all here to help.

I'm another newbie as I only joined today and think I'm going to enjoy it here. I'm amused by the tags such as 'child' 'toddler' 'mature adult' etc - perhaps I could be an 'immature adult'

Welcome Tricia I am sure you will enjoy the forum.

Thank you both for the welcome. I've just been reading some of the other forums and I know I'll enjoy it on here. I'll have to get myself an avatar soon I suppose

Just wait until you get to middle-aged. I think it's cruel.
ps I am rather worried about what comes after mature adult.

Hi Marie,
I guess then that the designations refer to how long people have been on here, or the number of posts made. If so, it will probably be a long time before I become a 'mature adult' - as long as it's not 'senile old trout' after that I don't care!!

Hi Tricia, a belated welcome to our great little forum I definetly think we blokes are getting outnumbered here
|
Tricia

Thanks Ken. I'm sure that you gentlemen are quite capable of standing up for yourselves and if you are in short supply that makes you all that more valuable and we ladies treat you with kid gloves (or perhaps not )

Thank you for those kind words Tricia, although I think in Marieanns case, she uses boxing gloves on me
Thats it, I'll get another verbal pasting now I suppose

Don't listen Tricia just because I tactfully, pleasantly and politely pointed out that moderators needed to rap a few knuckles before they earned their wages he's got it in for me.
He is ruined actually, every word hung on etc.

Sorry I forgot to sign in again so I have ticked the box.

I'm sure you are the soul of tact and politeness at all times Marie - it's just that some men can't take constructive advice.

Two onto one.....not fair

Thought for the day Ken - Once we realise that life was never meant to be fair we are saved a great deal of disappointment.

Thanks for that Tricia, I shall adopt it as my personal motto from now on
Everything makes so much more sense now

No one ever told me what came after Mature adult. Are you too frightened Ken?
|
Tricia
|
No Marieann, but under your post is a nice advert for Senior Citizen insurance - I wonder if they are trying to tell us something. Personally I think I've somehow managed to miss maturity and gone straight into my second childhood

I think I'm still a long way off Mature anything Marie I'm quite happey in this latter day adolescence that I seem to have blundered into
It's great to act your shoe size rather than your age
|
marieann

I think you are just trying to avoid the question. I know I am a Mature Adult because it says so right under marieann. You on the other hand are an ever young Site Admin.
So you won't ever be an Old Codger (unless of course you fall out with admin and are demoted) but will I end up an Old Crone?
Ok anyone who wishes to comment on that last sentence please feel free.
Do it quickly though I have to go back to the decorating on Monday.
|
Tricia
|
I'm sure you will never be an old crone marieanne - how about 'wrinkly' - or perhaps not - which brings to mind the following prayer:
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles, please no bags
And please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots, please no grey
And as for my belly, please take it away.
Please keep me healthy, please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord for all that you've done.
|

That's nice Tricia. I may be past that stage though.
