New Yemen Chameleon Coming SoonGetting a lovely Chameleon, to add to my Reptile Collection
Been busy wiring up a Vivarium for it today, added a Ceramic
Heat Lamp, lighting etc. lighting controlled with a timer, and,
Heating with a thermostat. Just have to check on temperature
levels, and furnish the Vivarium with some silk plants and
put some wood chips on the bottom for decoration.
Feeding should not be too difficult, insects ( live ) mostly
and a small amount of veg. You have to dust the insects
with a supplemental vitamin / calcium powder, and,
provide a special flourescent tube which puts out
a good percentage of UV. Normal tubes are no good.
As the Chamelion needs to make up Vitamin D3
for good bone growth, otherwise it could get
Metabolic Bone Disease.
They have to be kept singly, as two would stress each
other out to such an extent, you could lose one of them.
Contrary to belief, Chamelions dont change colour to
match surroundings, their colour mostly depends on
mood and temperature in its environment.
