I figured this one out Sandie ! The government just wants to take all the credit when, through having no disposable income at all, old age pensioners are forced to walk everywhere ! They won't have money for car travel, bus travel, trains etc. , so will have to resort to shanks's pony again ! Then the government will announce that all pensioners have taken the governments advice and are walking to get fitter and more active !
What a wonderful caring government we have, to take so much trouble over making sure we are all fit and healthy !
let's hear it for the government..............
Hip Hip................go

I wrote a scathing comment to the paper, Ken, and, as always, the good old Daily Mail published it, totally unedited and as I wrote it.
Basically I told the government to leave us poor pensioners alone. They've had their pound of flesh out of us when we were working, so now, get off our backs. Just give us our dues, enough money to live comfortably, and to stop interfering in our private lives.

Hi to all,and especially to Browneyes.!
Yes it's getting much chillier now, so I decided to test out my heating last night, and guess what, no heating, it's packed up.! Lots of hot water, and the boiler seems ok, so i rang the Council this morning, and they are coming over on Monday. They did ask me how old i was, so they could prioritise needs, which is fair enough. Hopefully it will be fixed on Monday.......

Hope you can keep warm enough for the coming weekend, Mike.
