Cost to build - £800million; price for a two-week cruise - from £1,300
630,000 gallons of paint needed to decorate it
2,300 tons of water in its swimming pools
12,000 plants on board including hundreds of palm trees
3,300 miles of electrical cables to keep the lights in its 2,700 cabins blazing

The ships my Daughter danced on were 100,000 tons and they were big, we always got lost on them, think you could spend your entire holiday lost on that one

It looks rather "top-heavy" to me, Joan. Bit scary actually.

It's certainly a magnificant feat of engineering, but one thing troubles me slightly. In all the pics I've seen so far, it appears to have only 9 lifeboats per side, total 18, with a full complement of nearly 8500 souls including passengers and crew, this equates to over 475 persons per boat ! Now either they are extremely large lifeboats (doubtful) or a lot of folk had better pack water wings in their luggage !!

Do you think they'd be up to advertising?

It looks as though there are inflatables on the side,Ken.I know what you mean though,I don't think the ship's been made yet that has enough lifeboat space for all passengers & crew.
JoJo
Like the advert Bluebedouin, might be a bit out of out price range

you mean you pay all that money for a luxury cruise with all the trimmings and as soon as ou hit an iceberg, you have to de-camp to a rubber boat Will the servants be allowed in the boat with you or do they expect you to hire new staff as soon as you are landed ashore ??
JoJo
You mean you have to crawl into one of those little tubes?????I suppose they are for the inside cabin people only!!!!
