Once upon a time, (not so many months ago,) there was a lovely little Community Centre, run by the Local Authority, and hired by many goups of people who held judo classes, keep fit classes, line dancing, slide shows, birthday and wedding receptions ect....you get my drift.
Then, one day, the Local Authority says that it can no longer 'afford' to keep it open. Along comes another group of little brown men who step in and offer to lease it from the Authority. Fine, says the Authority, go right ahead, we don't mind, oh, but you'll still have to put up with the other groups using it a few times a week for their events.
Now, the little brown men didn't seem to have too much of a problem with this, although they weren't too happy about the receptions and parties being held there because of the participants consuming alcohol.
So, events jogged along, and the other groups shared the centre with the new leasors. Just occassionally, someone did try to set the place ablaze, with petrol-soaked rags through the letter-box, ect, but that was dismissed as kids' having a bit of fun.
However, as things started to get more serious, and the odd Book and mats were destroyed, the new leasors installed security cameras and even hired a security guard for the premises.
But, be that as it may, these measures did not stop the final determined attack only a few nights ago, when the premises was effectivly razed to the ground by arsonists.
Co-incidentally, this happened the night after Channel Fours showing a programme about the World Trade Center disaster.
Now, I wonder if that may have had something to do with it?
Hey, who are you to call me a Conspiracy Theorist!

It is such a sad story. Isn't it infuriating that the good things that benefit a whole community, seem to raise a such vicious actions by mindless yobs. They never seem to get caught either do they?
Sandie Seward
Excuse me, Dorramae, but do you really need me to spell it out for you?
dorramae
Not realy Admin. I was just being 'restrained'
dorramae
I notice I am back to being a baby again. I knew I was ready for my second childhood
Sandie Seward
Ah Ha! So that explains your seeming innocence, Dorramae.

I would think you are about to inherit a lovely mosque or suchlike on your doostep Admin ! I bet you a penny to a pinch of sh*t you won't get another lovely community centre And if by some miracle you do get one, you'll need to work extra hard on topping up your tan before applying for membership
Guest
Oh I have been puzzling over some of these answers all day. The penny may have dropped.

I'm not really a guest I just forgot to log in.

don't worry Marie, we love our Guests just as much as the regular members

As long as they don't post 'Spam'!
marieann
How was I able to post on this forum as a guest admin?
Sandie Seward
Don't worry, Marie, certain Boards are 'open' to both Members and Guests, so if a Member forgets to log in, they can still post.
However, in light of recent 'spam' attacks, I am seriously thinking of making this completely into a 'closed' Forum, whereby, Members will HAVE to log in BEFORE posting, and 'Guests' will no longer be able to post here. I don't really want to do this, however, but Ken and myself are getting really p**d off with having to keep deleting these unwanted postings.
marieann
I know you don't want to do it and I wish you didn't have to. I haven't seen a lot of forums really but this is the only one I know of where a guest can still post.
We are still very lucky because I know we complain about the spammers who are a damned nuisance but the trolls are a great deal worse. Those I have seen at work.
Sandie Seward
Don't worry, Marie, Trolls turn to stone in strong sunlight!
marieann
So that's why they only come out at night. I never stop learning.
