Our Front WallThis is our front garden wall. It was part of the railway bridge that stood here years ago. Our rockery is actually covering the huge stones that were the supports. The builder was unable to move them. I think it is so strange to see a lovely old stone wall in front of a modern red brick bungalow.
This is the side fence at the back with my berberis and Tony's bleeding hearts.

Marieann your walled garden looks as pretty as a picture. You and I must talk some more, as gardening is my hobby too!

Hi Kenneth, I enjoyed the movie clip of your sisters little garden, with sound effects.
I don't find gardening hard work, I find it therapeutic. After I have finished weeding the beds and mowed the lawn, I love to sit and marvel at my plot, albeit a smallish one, and it's even more enjoyable on a nice warm summers evening whilst sipping a cool glass of white wine.
It's not that warm out there today, hence, I'm sitting here indoors, busy at my computer.

Far too many railway lines were closed by 'Axeman' Beeching.
I am in a group on a massive campaign to re-open one locally closed line.

Hi Sylvia, I'm not the gardener Tony is. We will be keeping the rockery and the soil around the edges but the lawns will be going some time this year. The gardens aren't large and we are going to have a small conservatory on the front which will take up a lot of the garden. I am hoping the rest will be paved. Tony has had a greenhouse in the back garden for two years now and is talking about putting chippings down where the lawn is. We will grow as much as possible in pots.
It is neccessary because he will not be able to cope with it for much longer.
I would love to see some pictures of your garden. This was our lupin tree we couldn't believe it. Tony got a little cutting from someone.

They made a very good job of dismantling the local branch lines around us Brian. The national cycle track running from Sunderland on the east coast to the west coast of Cumbria runs along our street and is on the old railway lines for miles round about this area.
