BANGKOK (AFP) - Inspired by a US radio show for pets, a Thai dog lover has reportedly launched a round-the-clock online music radio program for canines.
DogRadioThailand.com, which made its debut on Wednesday, offers both vocal and instrumental music for dogs, the English-daily Bangkok Post said, quoting radio program operator Anupan Boonchuen.
"I've noticed that dogs often respond to music. Some wag their tails. Some lift their heads while lying on the floor," said Anupan.
"When you love someone or something dearly, you will always think of good things for them, like I dream of a special radio program for dogs," he said.
Anupan said his dog's favorite music was Thai folk songs, adding that the animals' favored music tended to reflect their owners' taste.

Where am I ever going to find a dog that likes Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin ?
Sandie Seward
My Shannon does, Ken. Talking of Pink Floyd, I picked up a real bargain double album of theirs today at my local 2nd hand market.
"Delicate sound of thunder"...a 'live' recording of almost all their most popular titles. In good condition, (12" vynal).........Price? £1.
Catalogue value? At least £15.
Ken R
Ahhhhhh...good taste obviously runs in your household Admin
The Delicate Sound of Thunder sounds like a real bargain Admin, lucky you.
I noticed in my local Tescos tonight that they have the Echoes double CD for only £8.97 now, I paid over £12 for mine about 18 months ago !

I prefer my music on vinyl, Ken. I've got a top-of-the- range Aiwa hi-fi, and this really brings out the sound. The only trouble is, I can't play it loud very often as my elderly neighbour hardly ever goes out, and I've no wish to upset him.
Ken R
The only Floyd I've got on vinyl is 3 copies of Dark Side of The Moon and one Wish You Were Here ! Unfortunately, no deck at present, just the multi CD player, but I'll hang onto the vinyl for when I eventually get a deck again !

Now your talking folks! 60's and early 70's was fantastic music era, but then I am biassed. I was only thinking the other day, that during those fabulous music years, I had oodles of vinyls, mostly 45's and I don't know what happened to them. Such a shame, because I have been to countless record fairs recently and those vinyls are very expensive to buy now.
I have got quite a collection of golden oldies, 45's vinyls, which I started buying just a half a dozen at a time, each time we went to these Jukebox Extravaganza's. Great atmosphere with 60's music blaring out from various jukeboxes. The last one we went to was held at Kempton Park race track.
One day I'll go through my collection and let you know what I've bought over the past five years, if anyone's interested!

Sylvia, if I were to list all of my collection here, it would take weeks. I have over 2000 long playing albums, some quite rare and valuable. They include Original Beatles recordings, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Hunter Muskett, Lindisfarne, and Fairport Convention.
All brilliant bands, most are now very collectable, and fetch high prices for records in good original condition with sleeves and covers that are also clean and unmarked.
I have never fully had my collection valued because I have no wish now, or in the future to ever sell them. They are purely for my own personal enjoyment, and they have not been collected with any investment views.
Sylvia
Trust you to upstage me Admin, you an ex radio presenter!
I've got some original Beatles LP's too! Help, Rubber Soul and Sergeant Pepper which I did manage to keep from my youth, still in original sleeves and unmarked. I know that these are collectables but I'm not selling.

I guess I've only got about 2 dozen LPs now and only one or two singles, but CDs, I've got hundreds !!!
Lindisfarne !!! Now your talkin' Admin
Sandie Seward
Ken, I had a pleasent suprise tonight, I ran a search for Neil Youngs 2005 album, 'Prairie Wind', and found two brand new sealed copies of it on 12" Long Playing vinyl! I'll have to order it from the States, but for only £24. it's an absolute collectors item. It's so good to see that great artists like Neil Young are still recording and releasing records on this format.
Who said vinyl was dead?
Ken R
Well done Admin, sounds like you tracked down another couple of great bargains there ! I'll have to hold fire on acquiring any more vinyl until I manage to sort out a deck, I'll get another one soon hopefully, if I don't spend all my shekels on diecast models that is
Sylvia
I need to get a record deck too. I've got one of those very modern things that's about 12 inches high and it plays cassette tapes, CD's and also has a built in radio, but no record deck. It has two small sepakers and two large speakers for mounting on the wall. My very small collection of vinyls, are in a cupboard until I can get a deck. I only want a small one.
My partner is a bit eccentric. Evertime we go to the jukebox fairs, he purchases another jukebox. He's now got three of them in his house and they stand like great big monsters in different rooms. When he puts one of them on, he selects random play and those good ol' tunes boom out loud and clear. Good job he lives in a detached house, but I bet the music can still be heard halfway down the street.
Inquisitive as ever, I asked him why does he need three jukebox's. He says that he will make money on them one day. I disagree, I think jukebox's were good in their day, but they are a has been.

Sylvia, although 'old technology', jukeboxes are extremely collectable, and many people, (myself included) would love to own one. But I doubt if most 'modern' homes are suitable for these items. I think they are all works of art, and I'd love to own one if only I had the space to put it.
My 'ideal' home, would have a separate 'music' room with at least one jukebox, (preferably a 'Rockola'), at least one 'Dr. Gottlieb' (pin table), and an Expresso Coffee Machine. I'd re-create a 'coffee bar' like the ones I used to spend time in when I was a teenager.
Sylvia
Hi Admin, one of the jukebox's is a very large Rockola and one of the other jukebox's is a smaller version of the Rockola. The third one I can't remember what it is, but I'll find out and let you know.
Sylvia
Sandie Seward
Sylvia, did you ever manage to find out the make of the third jukebox?
Sylvia
Hi Admin, since my previous post on this thread, Alan has changed one of his three Jukeboxes. He now has a huge Rockola, a Balami J200 selection and a Seeburg. Now that's taking things way over the top, don't you think? Why on earth does he need three Jukeboxes, they are such big monsters too! Just as well he lives in a detached house, especially when he turns the volume up high. Superb quality of sound comes from those dated machines
He calls them 'Boys Toys' what with the jukeboxes and his vast expanse of locomotives, I think he's going back to his second childhood!
Ken R
You shouldn't have mentioned the locomotives Sylvia, you'l have Admin camped out on his doorstep by this time tomorrow
