Sea FretTony decided we would have a change from South Shields today so because Ken R is absolutely spoilt on here this is where we went.
Then the sea fret came in I haven't seen it happen before.

Marie, thank you very much for my own "special" photos, they are brilliant they bring back so many happy memories, the boating lake, the sea front, the big gap where the Plaza used to stand !
The sea fret is something else isn't it ? It catches many un-wary coastal mariners out up in the North East. When my dad was on the big lifeboat, they used to get many call outs in the summer to guide stranded boats back into shore.
Thanks again for the memories, they are priceless, Iam going to prin them out and keep them,
Ken

That sea looked a bit rough, and cold. Still it would do your corns good! (Do my poor corn good thats for sure.)

I bet you have decided to stick to aqua-aerobics in future Monica. You're a good sport I hope it wasn't too cold we go regularly but I don't paddle. South Shields is nice isn't it?

That was lovely Kenneth, what a surprise. When I showed him the e-mail photos of the Farne Isles Tony said isn't that Bamborough Castle.
I was almost up as early as you this morning, well give or take a couple of hours.

YES INDEED MARIEANN------THE CASTLE AS IT STANDS TODAY WAS BUILT IN THE EARLY PART OF THE 19TH CENTURY----BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE CASTLE KEEP IN THE CENTRE OF THIS PICTURE---THAT WAS BUILT BY THE NORMANS--

How many pieces of todays so called architecture, do you think will still be around in 300 years time or if they are still around, will they look as good as this does ? I don't think so somehow

Message to Topsy Tumbleweed. Hi Monica, I think you are very brave paddling in that turbulant sea. I'm very afraid when big waves come in and stick well away. The only time I will paddle, is when the tide is on it's way out.
I loved the seaside when I was a kid, but after the Tsunami a couple of years ago, I'm just terrified of big waves.

I Agree Ken R------------------------------i also think that to call a piece of baby`s rubish -- IE a guy runs over some paint blobs with a bike-----and the self proclaimed experts , decide it`s a work of art??? is patetic....and credits the man in the street with no sense at all
