Upgrades.I have just had a rather expensive weekend, yet I have hardly left the house! So, how did I manage to spend my way through almost £230?
Blame the good old Online Shopping again.
I've splashed out on a 24" new TFT Computer Monitor, yes, you've read it right, Twenty-Four inches. A screen that's TWO FEET diagonally when measured.
Well, I've recently been "making do" with our "spare" 15" TFT one, as Lou bought my 17" one from me to replace her old Cathode Ray Tube one.
I have vowed, NEVER will I return to these heavy, bulky, and flickering old screens. Once you have tried a TFT screen you will never want to revert back to the earlier type again.
So, I have decieded to push the boat out, and use some of my savings to buy myself the largest one I could find, along with new speakers (6watt) and a Retro-style Radio Microphone with which to record my Podcasts.
This is where the money has gone, so as I say, although I only visited my local market and shops over the two days, all the money has been spent online for new equipment for my Home Studio.
I checked Misco's, Maplins, and Curry's websites, but the best deal I could find on monitors was from a seller who runs a shop on eBay and is based in Manchester.
And they wonder why High Street shops are losing money?

I thought I was doing well with my 17" one Sandie !
24" must be like being at the cinema

The new monitor (cinema screen), arrived this morning, and, all I can say is that's it's magnificent, it really is.
I have left glowing feedback for the Seller on eBay, as, it is exactly as described, and he dispatched it very quickly, seeing as I only bought it on Sunday.

Wow Sandie that sounds awesome didn't know you could get them that size, and as long as you get a lot of pleasure out of it,then it's worth every penny

Thanks, JoJo, mostly High Street shops seem to go up to 22" top size, but short of buying a TFT televison that has a PC connexion, this 24" inch "Edge10" was the largest that I could find.
It really is incredible both for my online work and playing games.
Trainz is transformed, and look almost real. Amazing what a difference a few inches makes.

I'm starting to feel even MORE inadequate

Should soon be getting that "professional" radio mike now, Ken.
A hand-held mike is not really suitable for recording Podcasts, this new one will sit on my desk, and, once placed for optimum effect, should not need to be moved again.
