Maywalk

WW2 Re-enactment Group.

I am constantly amazed at the amount of young folk interested in WW2 and the 40s era.
SO many throw themselves into re-enacting that era they will go to the ends of the earth to get everything as it was then.
I have just had a thankyou e-mail from France because someone wanted the baby knitting pattern that I have in my 1940s knitting book.
They have a new arrival in the family and will be taking part in the re-enactment here sometime in the future and wanted their baby dressed as they were decades ago.
They will pay a great amount of money just to get the clothes of that era to make it as authentic as possible.
Some folks may scoff at the re-enactment groups but not only are they keeping themselves occupied and enjoying it they also do their best to re-enact history.
I can only admire them and wish them well.

Here are the first two pages of the pattern the person wanted.

Those old pattern books bring back memories, Maywalk. I can remember my Nan having piles of them, (she was an avid knitter). She used to get me to hold the skeins of wool for her, whilst she rolled it into balls. Boy, did my poor arms used to ache! Smile
