WWT WashingtonWe went with the eldest on Tuesday. It isn't as good as normal this year because they have drained ponds and are busy re-routing the river so everything is very muddy and there is not the usual variety of ducks and geese.
These are Andean geese and they are the oddest I have seen they appeared about two months ago and don't stand any nonsense from the smaller birds.
The next two are from the wild bird feeding station.
Lovely bullfinches there is a woodpecker and we have seen him but never managed to get a clear picture.

This is our Greater Spotted Woodpecker, they love the peanuts and bring the baby ones to feed early mornings.

It's lovely Dee, that's the one we see at Washington that won't pose.

Marieann is that Washington County Durham? I remember years ago going to that area, my ex was a crane driver and was working on the Easington Bypass, think that is around Washington.

It is about 25 miles north of Easington Dee, it is in Tyne and Wear but it used to be in County Durham.
There are branches all over the country, we are very lucky to have this one so close to us. This is my favourite view but was taken about a year ago. There are now eight huge windmills on the horizon. It is next door to the Nissan Car plant and they save Nissan one million pounds a year in electricity charges. It's hard to imagine a bill that size isn't it.

Glad you're back Kenneth. I'm sure you have both enjoyed the few days. You are so lucky living right next door to WWT I would be there more than at home if it were me.

Thank you Kenneth that is lovely. I have shown it to Tony who thinks the same.
You must have been to WWT recently because you have the goats also. They were lovely but did you see the tree they had stripped of bark.
Hope you are both well I have missed you.
