Crying or Very sad I had pension credit for two years, THEY,overpaid me , now I am having to pay them back at £11.50 per week, also because of this overpayment I am paying £70. a month extra council tax, does not leave much out of the basic pension. The social answer to this was "sell your house and live in sheltered accom. I am a fit person (luckily), very active, mentally and phisically. Certainly not ready for that yet.
Sylvie , keep pressing for Invalidity, the doctor is the main person to help,(I am told my a invalid friend of mine)
Dont give up. Best of luck Cool Razz

Have you been to Citizens Advice about this dorramae It is an awful lot of money to lose out of your pension every week. I don't know what age you are but you could try Age Concern as well.

Yes Marie I have been to the Age concern and the legal dept too, but apparently they can only reduce the weekly amount payable from my penson credit, so it takes onger to pay back. But the Coucil tax has to be paid before the end of the year and Manchester council are addament that rules can not be bent or broken.
The thing isI am entitled now to pension credit but they take it back again to pay off the overpayment they paid me in the first place.

Its a funny old world isn't it? Rolling Eyes

I'm glad you can find an amusing slant to it or is it just resignation. Wink

Ordinary folk don't have much of a say really do they? Very Happy
