Taking the proverbial "Bull by the horns" I have finally deceided to concentrate my efforts and resources into a "spin-off" branch of my Diecast Car Hobby.

I have started buying model cars made from White Metal and hand-made too and hand painted. Most of these models are made in limited runs of less than 1000, and because of their investment value the market price of these models reflect these issues.

Two older British cars were delivered today, both Jaguars. Waiting for models now to come from America and Australia.

Here's the pics of the two that came today.

Really nice models Sandie, I must admit, I don't actually have any white metal models myself, but you can easuily tell them apart from the "mass produced" models from other manufacturers. The other thing I like about white metal models is they tend to be cars that are ignored by mainstream producers.

Yes Ken, it's the latter part of your post that makes them appeal to me so much as well.

What I am trying to do is to collect as many of the cars and vans I have owned or driven over the past Forty Seven years and see just how many I can find.

Most of these will not be found amongst the ranks of mass-produced or even "limited-run" Diecasts.

I'm not exactly turning my back on Diecasts, as if you have noticed I have been much more active on the Diecast Forum of late too.

I have deceided to give my Newsvine Column a rest now until later in September when I return from my Northern Lights break!

On a more sober note I have it on good authority that the excellent Model Shop that was in Berwick has closed down. This is sad for me, as I really was looking forward to paying it another visit.
Mind you, the chap who was running it may have moved on, as when I last spoke with him he told me that he had opened it to give him a interest when he retired.

I just hope that he wasn't another recession victim and that he chose to close rather than have closure imposed on him due to the dire economic situation of this Country!
Cool Sad
