I don't understand how these adverts work. I post on Sylvia's Da Vinci thread and underneath my posting the 3 adverts are Mary Magdalene Book and 2 items about the author. Is it something like Hotbar's toolbar which amazed me in the early days by providing adverts for whatever I had asked google for. I thought it was the pc doing it, some sort of minor miracle.
I notice if I post on the general chat thread I usually get a url for chatterboxes. _________________ Marie
Our Forums are regularly visited by 'Adbots', which are tiny software programmes. These programmes are 'programmed' to search for 'keywords' on here, and will automatically place ads relating to certain postings.
These are the 'Guests' that seem to follow you around when your're logged in.

I have noticed how often there is a guest showing but thought it was just a lurker. I have heard them mentioned before but not with a clear explanation. I hadn't expected them to register as a guest. _________________ Marie
